Gingerbread Cookies

Get the whole family baking with our classic gingerbread cookies recipe! These cookies are great for decorating, gifting, or simply enjoying with a cosy cup of tea. A holiday tradition that’s as fun to make as it is to eat.

Serves: 6

Cooking Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:

Flour 350 g

Caster sugar 75 g

cane sugar 75 g

Butter 160 g

honey 140 g

Egg 1

Salt 5 g

dried ginger 2 teaspoons

Cinnamon 2 teaspoons

Nutmeg 1/2 teaspoon

Clove 1/2 teaspoon

Method:

1.  Pour the flour, sugars, spices, salt, and cold butter cut into cubes into a bowl. Crumble the dough by hand until the mixture has a sandy texture.

2. Add the egg and honey. Mix until a compact dough forms.

3. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

4. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin to a thickness of about 4 mm.

5. Cut the cookies using Christmas-shaped cutters and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

6. Bake the cookies in a preheated static oven at 180°C for about 15-17 minutes.

7. Remove from the oven and let them cool on a rack. Eat and enjoy!
