Strawberry and vanilla gelato

Easy, luscious five ingredient Italian style gelato is so simple to make with a Smeg stand mixer and ice cream accessory. We’ve used strawberries, however blueberries, raspberries or blackberries would also be delicious.
Serves 4
250ml milk
125ml cream
½ cup (110g) sugar
250g washed strawberries, hulled
1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste
Place your Smeg ice cream container in the freezer the night before you make the gelato.
Place milk, cream and sugar in a saucepan over medium and stir until the sugar dissolves. Allow to cool.
Place the strawberries in a Smeg hand blender jug and blend with the FlowBlend attachment smooth. Add cooled milk mixture and vanilla and blend briefly to combine. Refrigerate until cold.
Affix the ice cream attachment to a Smeg stand mixer, add gelato mixture and churn on low speed for 10 minutes until thick. Serve immediately or store in the freezer.
